Yesterday was an awesome day.   We had a great field trip to Jefferson City.  We toured the Supreme Court, Highway Patrol Safety Museum, Governor’s Mansion, and Capitol.  What was your favorite part of the day?  What was something that you learned?  Would you like to go back?  What would you like to learn more about?

Reflecting on Earth Day April 23, 2010

Yesterday we did our best to go paperless and live green.  I have to admit that I think we did a pretty good job.  I had to think a few times about how to cut back and avoid using paper, but we did it!  Review the list of ways we saved paper on the whiteboard.  What did you like the best?  Which one or ones would be easy to do everyday?  Can you think of other ways that we can save paper at school?

Today is Earth Day.  We are going to try to go paperless today and not use any paper.  What does your family do to try to help the environment?  If you don’t think you do anything, what could you do to help save the Earth?

MAP testing is over, we are on the countdown to the end of school, and many fun things will be happening in the weeks to come such as East Extravaganza, Field Day, Transition Day, our field trip to Jefferson City, and the last day of school.  What are you most looking forward to?  What do you have questions about?  Please include your ideas, thoughts, and feelings about one of these events in your post.

This is a new activity that I would like to start with our class.  Periodically I will post to this blog called “ Hayter’s Student Blog” and you will get the opportunity to make a comment.  Sometimes it will be something simple, such as getting your opinion or finding out what you did over the weekend.  Other times, you may post comments to a specific question relating to something we are studying in class.  We can even conduct a poll through this blog.  All comments will come to me and I will read them and either approve them or delete them.

Here is your first post on which to comment:  What do you think of this new activity?  Does it sound like something that you would like to do?  Do you have any suggestions for how this could be used?  Be sure to post your name with your comments.
